Ping Zhu has contributed to cryo-EM structural characterization of the spliceosome and the SF3B complex, providing a structural basis for splicing modulator drug design. His work supports the rational development of cancer-targeted splicing drugs. He is a leading structural biologist of the spliceosome in China.
