Zhaoming Su has elucidated the structural and functional mechanisms of YTHDF reader proteins that decode m6A modifications to regulate mRNA fate in cancer. His work on YTHDF2-mediated mRNA decay revealed how cancer cells selectively degrade tumor suppressor transcripts through m6A-dependent pathways. He has provided structural insights enabling rational design of small molecules targeting the m6A-reader interface.
