Yusuf Bhatt investigates targeted therapy strategies for esophageal adenocarcinoma and gastroesophageal junction cancers with defined molecular alterations. His research has evaluated HER2-targeted therapy combinations and trastuzumab deruxtecan in HER2-positive esophageal and GEJ cancers. He has examined VEGFR2 inhibition and ramucirumab in treatment sequences for advanced esophageal adenocarcinoma. His translational work aims to molecularly stratify esophageal cancer patients to optimize targeted therapy selection beyond the limited HER2 and PD-L1 biomarkers currently used clinically.
