Yung-Jue Bang led the CLASSIC trial establishing capecitabine plus oxaliplatin (CAPOX) as adjuvant standard of care in East Asian patients with curatively resected stage II-III gastric cancer. He also led the ToGA trial establishing trastuzumab for HER2-positive advanced gastric cancer. His foundational work on adjuvant and targeted therapy in gastric cancer has generated multiple regulatory approvals and practice-changing results globally. Bang has been at the forefront of international gastric cancer clinical research and collaborative East-West investigations.
