Fang-Fang Yin has made foundational contributions to intensity-modulated radiation therapy optimization and 4D treatment planning that underpin the technical capability for dose painting in moving targets. His research on respiratory-gated radiation therapy and motion management has been essential for implementing dose painting in thoracic and abdominal tumors where respiratory motion blurs dose distributions. He leads quality assurance program development for advanced radiation techniques including MRI-guided radiation therapy and dose painting.
