Yael Mosse at CHOP discovered ALK as the most common inherited predisposition gene for neuroblastoma and identified ALK as a therapeutic target in this disease. She led trials demonstrating crizotinib activity in ALK-mutated/amplified neuroblastoma and continues to develop ALK inhibitor strategies for this deadly childhood cancer. Her discovery opened a molecularly targeted treatment avenue for high-risk neuroblastoma.
