Brian Wilson is a pioneer in PDT light dosimetry and interstitial photodynamic therapy, having developed the theoretical and practical frameworks for delivering therapeutic light to deep-seated tumors via optical fibers. His clinical trials of interstitial PDT for prostate cancer have demonstrated focal tumor ablation with preservation of continence and sexual function. He has established the dosimetric standards used in PDT clinical trials worldwide.
