William Bhatt leads drug discovery efforts targeting the WNT secretion pathway, with particular focus on porcupine O-acyltransferase (PORCN) inhibitors. His team has developed potent and selective PORCN inhibitors that block WNT ligand palmitoylation and secretion. He has characterized the spectrum of WNT-dependent tumors most likely to respond to PORCN inhibition based on genetic biomarkers. His work has advanced multiple WNT pathway inhibitors into clinical development.
