Wenya Linda Bi at BWH has contributed to understanding meningioma molecular biology and surgical management. Despite being the most common primary brain tumor, meningioma has lacked systemic treatment options for aggressive/recurrent cases. Her genomic work characterizing molecular subtypes beyond WHO grade and identifying driver alterations (NF2, TRAF7, AKT1, SMO) is important for developing targeted therapies for this largely surgically-managed but often recurrent tumor.
