Wassim Abida at MSK has contributed to characterizing homologous recombination repair (HRR) gene alterations in prostate cancer and to clinical development of PARP inhibitors in prostate cancer. His work on the frequency and clinical significance of BRCA2, CDK12, and other DNA repair alterations in advanced prostate cancer, and his contributions to clinical trials establishing olaparib and rucaparib in HRR-mutated prostate cancer, have been important in this field.
