Robin Warren shared the 2005 Nobel Prize with Barry Marshall for discovering Helicobacter pylori on gastric biopsies from patients with chronic gastritis. His pathology observations of curved bacteria in gastric mucosa sparked the entire H pylori field. His work transformed understanding of gastric disease and cancer prevention.
