Warren Chan

Warren Chan at the University of Toronto is a pioneer of quantum dot technology for cancer imaging and has made fundamental contributions to understanding nanoparticle-tumor interactions. His landmark paper critically re-examining the EPR effect has re-shaped the field by demonstrating that nanoparticle accumulation in tumors occurs primarily through active cellular uptake rather than passive EPR. This has redirected nanomedicine development toward active targeting strategies.
