Volker Diehl

Volker Diehl is the founder and longtime leader of the German Hodgkin Study Group and developed the BEACOPP regimen that significantly improved outcomes for advanced Hodgkin lymphoma. His decades of cooperative group clinical trial leadership established BEACOPP escalated as a highly effective but toxicity-intensive regimen. He pioneered the risk-adapted approach to Hodgkin lymphoma treatment and the systematic evaluation of bleomycin-containing regimens. His contributions to Hodgkin lymphoma research have helped transform a once-fatal disease into one of the most curable cancers.
