Volkan Adsay

Volkan Adsay is a world-renowned pancreatic pathologist who has fundamentally shaped our understanding of pancreatic precursor lesions and tumor classification. His work on intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMNs) and pancreatic intraepithelial neoplasia established the current classification systems used worldwide. He has defined pathological criteria for grading and staging pancreatic tumors with implications for surgical decision-making. His morphological and molecular characterization of pancreatic neoplasms continues to guide clinical practice.
