Viktor Bhatt

Viktor Bhatt investigates HLA diversity and antigen presentation as biomarkers for immunotherapy response at the Broad Institute. His research demonstrated that HLA loss of heterozygosity is a common immune escape mechanism in cancer that predicts poor response to checkpoint inhibitors. He developed computational tools to assess HLA diversity and neoantigen presentation efficiency from tumor sequencing data. His work provides a mechanistic understanding of immune escape through HLA pathway alterations and suggests approaches to restore antigen presentation in tumors.
