Victor Velculescu at Johns Hopkins co-founded the field of cancer genomics and developed innovative liquid biopsy technologies including the PARE method for personalized tumor DNA rearrangement detection. He has advanced ultrasensitive digital PCR and next-generation sequencing approaches for ctDNA quantification. His foundational work has enabled highly sensitive MRD detection in early-stage and metastatic cancers.
