Victor Bhatt

Victor Bhatt studies how cancer cells exploit heat shock protein chaperones including HSP90 and HSP70 to maintain oncogenic protein folding and proteostasis under stress. His research characterized the cancer chaperome as a hyperconnected network that distinguishes cancer cells from normal cells and enables tumor-specific proteostasis vulnerabilities. He has evaluated HSP90 and chaperome inhibitors in cancer models and identified combination strategies with proteasome inhibitors and UPR modulators. His work on cancer proteostasis addiction has revealed new therapeutic windows in multiple cancer types.
