Robert Vander Velde has developed experimental systems to validate the principles of adaptive therapy in controlled laboratory settings, demonstrating through competition assays and long-term culture experiments that drug-sensitive cancer cells can indeed competitively suppress resistant populations under appropriate dosing schedules.
