Valsamo Anagnostou at Hopkins has made contributions to understanding how tumor neoantigens and clonal evolution influence immunotherapy response and resistance. Her research on how clonal neoantigens (present in all tumor cells) versus subclonal neoantigens predict immunotherapy response, and on how immune editing drives loss of immunogenic neoantigens during tumor evolution, has revealed fundamental connections between cancer evolution and immune evasion.
