Tuya Pal

Tuya Pal at Vanderbilt focuses on cancer genetics in underserved populations, particularly hereditary breast and ovarian cancer in Black women and other racial/ethnic minorities. Her research demonstrates higher prevalence of BRCA1/2 mutations in Black women than previously estimated and significant disparities in genetic testing access and uptake. Her work is essential for ensuring cancer genetic medicine reaches all communities equitably.
