Suzanne Topalian led the first-in-human studies of anti-PD-1 nivolumab showing durable responses across multiple solid tumors, directly leading to first PD-1 approvals. She shared the 2024 Lasker-DeBakey Clinical Medical Research Award for PD-1 immunotherapy development. She directs translational IO at Johns Hopkins.
