Timothy Triche has been instrumental in applying genome-wide DNA methylation array technology to pediatric cancer diagnosis and classification, demonstrating that methylation profiles provide robust molecular classifiers for tumors that are histologically ambiguous. His laboratory developed methylation-based classifiers for pediatric brain tumors, sarcomas, and neuroblastomas that improve diagnostic accuracy compared to traditional histopathology. He has advanced the clinical implementation of the Heidelberg brain tumor methylation classifier and adapted these approaches for extracranial pediatric malignancies.
