Timothy Cloughesy

Timothy Cloughesy is a leading neuro-oncologist who has advanced understanding of GBM molecular biology and conducted landmark clinical trials in glioblastoma. His research has characterized the molecular heterogeneity of GBM including IDH wild-type vs IDH-mutant biology, EGFR amplification and EGFRvIII expression, and MGMT promoter methylation as predictors of treatment response. He has led clinical evaluation of novel approaches including tumor treating fields (TTFields) and targeted agents in EGFR-amplified and PTEN-null GBM. His neoadjuvant surgery window-of-opportunity trial designs have enabled pharmacodynamic studies of drug target engagement in GBM.
