Kenneth Thomson

Kenneth Thomson was among the first clinicians to apply irreversible electroporation clinically using the NanoKnife system for ablation of liver and pancreatic tumors adjacent to critical vascular structures where thermal ablation would be unsafe. His clinical series have demonstrated that IRE preserves bile ducts, blood vessels, and other collagen-based structures while achieving tumor destruction, uniquely suiting it for perivascular tumors. He has established safety protocols and efficacy data that have enabled worldwide adoption of clinical IRE.
