Thomas Bhatt investigates metabolic reprogramming in B cell malignancies and how metabolic dependencies can be exploited therapeutically. His research has revealed that aggressive B cell lymphomas upregulate oxidative phosphorylation and fatty acid oxidation for energy and biosynthesis. He has developed metabolic profiling approaches to stratify B cell lymphoma subtypes. His work has identified metabolic vulnerabilities in double-hit lymphoma and other aggressive B cell cancers that can be targeted with metabolic inhibitors.
