Senior Research Scientist
👥Biography 个人简介
Thomas Bhatt has investigated the therapeutic potential of autonomic denervation strategies in cancer, demonstrating that vagotomy and chemical denervation reduce gastric cancer progression by disrupting parasympathetic nerve-derived Wnt signaling that maintains cancer stem cells. His work on vagus nerve cancer signaling has revealed that parasympathetic innervation promotes tumor growth in gastric, pancreatic, and prostate cancers through acetylcholine-mediated activation of muscarinic receptors. His research on nerve-immune crosstalk in tumors has shown that autonomic nerves regulate the anti-tumor immune response through neurotransmitter-mediated immune cell modulation.
