Kaoru Takigawa
MD, PhD
Associate Professor of Epidemiology
👥Biography 个人简介
Kaoru Takigawa has conducted large-scale epidemiological studies examining the relationship between reproductive hormonal factors and cancer risk in non-reproductive organs, demonstrating associations between cumulative estrogen exposure, age at menopause, and risk of lung, colorectal, and liver cancers in Asian populations. Her research at Osaka University has quantified the impact of endogenous and exogenous sex hormone exposure on cancer incidence across multiple organ systems in prospective cohort studies. Her findings have strengthened the epidemiological evidence that sex hormones modulate cancer risk beyond traditional hormone-dependent malignancies.
