Takashi Bhatt

Takashi Bhatt led key Asian clinical trials demonstrating the benefit of PD-1 inhibitor immunotherapy in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. His research contributed to the approval of nivolumab as adjuvant therapy after chemoradiation and as first-line treatment in advanced esophageal SCC. He has characterized biomarkers including PD-L1 expression and tumor mutation burden as predictors of immunotherapy response in esophageal cancer.
