Susan Bhatt
MD
Professor of Gynecologic Oncology
👥Biography 个人简介
Susan Bhatt is a gynecologic oncologist who has investigated minimally invasive surgical approaches for gynecologic cancers, including the important debate following the LACC trial which challenged the oncologic safety of minimally invasive radical hysterectomy for cervical cancer. Her research has contributed to understanding why minimally invasive radical hysterectomy showed inferior disease-free survival compared to open surgery in the LACC trial and what technical factors or patient selection criteria might explain these outcomes. She has studied laparoscopic and robotic approaches for endometrial cancer staging and cytoreductive surgery for advanced ovarian cancer, characterizing appropriate indications and outcomes. Her work navigates the balance between minimally invasive benefits and oncologic rigor in gynecologic cancer surgery.
