Susan Bhatt
PhD
Associate Professor of Immunology
👥Biography 个人简介
Susan Bhatt investigates the adenosine immunosuppressive pathway in cancer, where tumor cells and stromal cells produce adenosine via CD39 and CD73 ectonucleotidases that potently suppresses T cell and NK cell activity. Her research has characterized the sources and quantities of adenosine in various tumor microenvironments and their correlation with immunotherapy resistance. She has evaluated adenosine A2A receptor antagonists and CD73 inhibitors as strategies to relieve adenosine-mediated immunosuppression. Her work is advancing adenosine pathway targeting as a novel immunotherapy approach.
