Shigeki Sugii has advanced iPSC technology in Singapore through research on the epigenetic memory of reprogrammed cells and its impact on differentiation potential, which has important implications for selecting optimal source cells for iPSC-derived cancer therapies. His work on metabolic programming of iPSCs has revealed how culture conditions influence the functional properties of iPSC-derived immune cells. He has contributed to establishing iPSC banking initiatives in Asia that aim to provide immunologically matched cell sources for diverse populations.
