Brent Stockwell

Brent Stockwell discovered ferroptosis and has applied spatial proteomics to map the distribution of ferroptosis-sensitive and ferroptosis-resistant cell populations within tumors, revealing spatial heterogeneity in this vulnerability. His spatial mapping of GPX4, lipid peroxidation markers, and iron metabolism proteins has shown that ferroptosis susceptibility varies dramatically across tumor microenvironment niches. His work connecting spatial proteomics with cell death pathway analysis has opened new approaches for exploiting ferroptosis as a cancer therapy strategy.
