Steven Zheng has contributed to molecular characterization of colorectal cancer subtypes, including work on the consensus molecular subtypes (CMS1-4) framework that classifies CRC into biologically and clinically distinct groups. Understanding CMS classifications provides a biological framework for interpreting CRC biology, microenvironment, and treatment sensitivity, and guides biomarker development and clinical trial stratification.
