Steven Gitelis

Steven Gitelis is an orthopedic oncologist who has contributed to research on giant cell tumor of bone (GCT), particularly the use of denosumab to downstage lesions by inhibiting RANK-ligand-driven osteoclastic activity before surgical resection. His work has clarified the role of denosumab in unresectable or recurrent GCT and the risk of recurrence after medical and surgical therapy. He is a founding member of the Musculoskeletal Tumor Society.
