Stephen Quake

Stephen Quake at Stanford developed foundational cell-free DNA analysis technologies and demonstrated the potential of cfDNA for non-invasive prenatal testing, organ transplant monitoring, and cancer detection. His microfluidics innovations and single-molecule sequencing approaches have enabled ultra-sensitive nucleic acid detection from blood. His work spans medical genomics and underlies multiple commercial liquid biopsy platforms.
