Stephen Hunger at CHOP has contributed to pediatric ALL clinical research through Children's Oncology Group (COG) trials. His work on Philadelphia chromosome-positive ALL in children — establishing TKI (imatinib, dasatinib) addition to chemotherapy as transformative — and on characterizing and treating Ph-like ALL (BCR-ABL-like ALL without the BCR-ABL fusion) has been important for improving outcomes in high-risk pediatric leukemia.
