Jean Soulier

Jean Soulier has elucidated the molecular mechanisms by which Fanconi anemia DNA repair defects promote leukemogenesis, discovering specific chromosomal abnormalities and gene mutations that drive the transformation from marrow failure to acute myeloid leukemia. His research on leukemia stem cells arising in the context of bone marrow failure has revealed unique vulnerabilities distinct from de novo leukemia that may be therapeutically exploitable. He leads the French Fanconi Anemia Research Network connecting basic science to clinical management.
