👥Biography 个人简介

Sidney Farber is the father of modern chemotherapy — demonstrating in 1947 that aminopterin (a folate antagonist, precursor to methotrexate) could induce remissions in childhood ALL. While remissions were temporary, this proof-of-concept that drugs could fight cancer transformed oncology. He co-founded the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, establishing the model for comprehensive cancer center research and treatment. His vision that cancer could be treated medically shaped the entire field.
