Shailender Bhatia

Shailender Bhatia is a leading clinical investigator specializing in Merkel cell carcinoma and rare skin cancers. He has been a principal investigator on key immunotherapy trials for MCC including avelumab trials and has contributed to understanding immune mechanisms underlying MCC response. His research spans clinical trial design, translational biomarker work, and health outcomes research for patients with rare cutaneous malignancies. He collaborates closely with Paul Nghiem and is co-investigator on the MCC patient registry.
