Gregor Sersa

Gregor Sersa is a pioneer of clinical electrochemotherapy who has developed and refined the standard operating procedures for ECT treatment of cutaneous and subcutaneous tumors using bleomycin or cisplatin with electric pulses. His research on the vascular disrupting effects of electroporation has revealed that ECT acts through both direct tumor cell permeabilization and tumor blood supply disruption. He has coordinated multi-center European ECT clinical trials establishing treatment response rates exceeding 80 percent for skin metastases.
