Sandra D'Angelo

Sandra D'Angelo is a medical oncologist at MSK specializing in immunotherapy for soft tissue sarcomas, including the Alliance A091401 trial that established activity of nivolumab plus ipilimumab in STS subtypes. Her research has characterized the immunogenicity of specific sarcoma histotypes, identifying undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma and dedifferentiated liposarcoma as particularly responsive to checkpoint inhibition. She investigates the immunologic microenvironment of sarcomas to identify biomarkers of response. Her work is foundational to the application of immune checkpoint therapy in rare solid tumors.
