Sandra Bhatt

Sandra Bhatt has been a leading advocate for increased federal funding and research attention for childhood cancers, which have historically been underfunded relative to adult malignancies. Her work contributed to passage of the STAR Act and the Childhood Cancer Data Initiative that created mandatory reporting of pediatric cancer cases to a national registry. She has helped secure dedicated NIH and NCI funding streams for childhood cancer including pediatric MATCH and Project Everest. Her decades of advocacy have meaningfully increased the resources available for pediatric oncology research.
