Sandra Aung

Sandra Aung is a dermatologic oncologist investigating adjuvant and neoadjuvant immunotherapy strategies for Merkel cell carcinoma. She has contributed to the STAMP trial evaluating adjuvant pembrolizumab for resected stage I-III MCC and has studied sentinel lymph node biopsy protocols and their prognostic value in MCC. Her research has examined patterns of recurrence after surgery and the impact of adjuvant immunotherapy on reducing distant metastases. She also investigates neoadjuvant checkpoint inhibitor approaches to downstage resectable MCC.
