Salah-Eddin Al-Batran

Salah-Eddin Al-Batran was the principal investigator of the FLOT4/AIO trial demonstrating superiority of the FLOT regimen over ECF/ECX for perioperative treatment of gastric and GEJ cancers, leading to FLOT becoming the European standard. His IKF Institute at Krankenhaus Nordwest continues to lead innovative German gastric cancer trials including NICHO (nivolumab plus FLOT) and other perioperative immunotherapy combinations. He has co-authored the AIO S3 guidelines for gastric cancer and contributes to ESMO guideline development. Al-Batran is a widely respected leader in European gastric cancer clinical research.
