Saar Gill at the University of Pennsylvania is developing CAR-T approaches for AML and other myeloid malignancies — a significantly more challenging application than B cell malignancies due to shared antigen expression on normal hematopoietic cells. His work on tandem CAR designs, logic-gated CARs, and conditional antigen targeting aims to achieve selectivity for leukemic cells while sparing normal hematopoiesis.
