Alasdair Russell leads phage biology at Locus Biosciences where he has developed CRISPR-enhanced bacteriophages (crPhage) that combine phage lytic activity with CRISPR-Cas3 genome shredding for enhanced bacterial killing. His work on scalable GMP phage manufacturing has addressed key translational barriers for clinical phage therapy in oncology. He has advanced the industrial development of engineered phage therapeutics toward regulatory approval.
