Ruben Mesa

Ruben Mesa is the leading voice on patient-reported outcomes and quality of life in myeloproliferative neoplasms. He developed the MPN Symptom Assessment Form (MPN-SAF), now the standard tool for measuring symptom burden in clinical trials. His research encompasses the full spectrum of MPNs including polycythemia vera, essential thrombocythemia, and myelofibrosis, with focus on both disease biology and patient experience. He has led multiple national and international MPN trials and serves in leadership roles at major hematology organizations.
