Derrick Rossi

Derrick Rossi developed the modified mRNA-based method for generating iPSCs without genomic integration, a key advance for clinical-grade iPSC production that avoids the insertional mutagenesis risk of viral reprogramming methods. His work on synthetic mRNA technology also co-founded Moderna and has broad implications for engineering iPSC-derived cells with transient gene expression for therapeutic applications. He continues to advance non-integrating approaches to cellular reprogramming and gene modification for cell therapy.
