👥Biography 个人简介

Roger Reddel discovered the alternative lengthening of telomeres (ALT) pathway, used by approximately 10-15% of human cancers as a telomerase-independent mechanism of telomere maintenance. His work characterized ALT-associated promyelocytic leukemia bodies (APBs) as a hallmark of this pathway. He demonstrated that ALT is particularly prevalent in sarcomas, glioblastomas, and other cancer types. His research has opened new therapeutic avenues targeting ALT-positive cancers.
