Robert Coffin is the inventor of T-VEC and a pioneer in engineering herpes simplex virus-based oncolytic therapies. He designed the molecular architecture of T-VEC including deletion of ICP34.5 and ICP47 genes and insertion of GM-CSF to amplify local immune responses. He founded Replimune to develop next-generation armed oncolytic viruses, including RP2 and RP3, that deliver additional immunostimulatory payloads.
